For the branding design, Slash wanted the brand colour to be gender neutral – as well as fun and memorable. We decided to use a modern blue, pastel purple and eccentric yellow all combining to represent hope, life & energy. The main logo typography was designed to slant to a similar angle relating back to the name itself. The tips of the “L” & “H” are lit with a touch of yellow, indicating a torch on fire – to be symbolic of the local art culture that needs to be passed to the next generation, that deserves more exposure.
The founders behind Slash are a couple that works full time while running side hustles, and were inspired to make art events accessible to everyone — not just the artsy community. Hence, “Slash” – multiple careers and choices. Slash curates art events and helps to promote art culture, as an event organiser that connects artists and audience. Slash shares info about local events and its future website aims to provide a solution from ticketing, planning & serves as a guide. Now you’ve a lot more choices for weekend outings!
