We were asked by the Korean Tourism Organization of Malaysia to create event posters, workshop tutorial sheets as well as social media postings for the MITM watercolour fan painting workshop. During the lockdown last year, we hosted one online watercolour fan workshop with KTO for their invited guests & staff ✨
After doing some research on Korea’s seasons, we decided the key event visuals were to have a fall colour palette, and create a visual presentation consisting of elements such as gingko leaves, the iconic Namsan Tower, as well as characters in Korean outfits, including the hanbok, a Korean traditional dress. All these visual elements were then shown at the MITM fair recently at Mid Valley Megamall from 8-10 July 2022.
KTO briefed us that unlike the closed session the first time, they wanted this workshop to be open to the public and beginner-friendly. After considering several ideas for the fans, including pastel, dried flowers and more, we settled on watercolour being the medium of choice as it often delivers an intimidating impression that it is hard to master. The fan painting workshop received a good response, and the visitors who registered early were delighted to be able to join for free.
We felt very encouraged hearing the client’s feedback, who experienced the class firsthand, enjoyed the overall process, and noted that we were proactive in suggesting ideas, prompt in delivery and did not require much supervision. Look out for more events in future from us and tell us if you would like to share some ideas! We’re glad to note the trust shown by our client as this is our 9th times working together, and that sole reliance on the client briefing us beforehand is not required, as they are always open to suitable collaboration proposals from us 🤍
